Emil Truog Soil Science Award

Award, Fellow, and Scholarship nominations initiated by April 09, 2013
Reference Letters and Final Nomination submission by April 17, 2013

The Emil Truog Award is designed to recognize a recent Ph.D. degree recipient who has made an outstanding contribution to soil science as evidenced by his/her Ph.D. dissertation. This award is supported through funds from the Emil Truog estate. The award consists of a certificate and $2000 honorarium.

  1. Nominees must be living at the time of their nomination.
  2. Those individuals who received their Ph.D. degree in 2011 are eligible for the 2012 award. Each department that has given a Ph.D. degree in one of the areas usually designated as soil science may submit one nomination for 2012, unless it granted more than eight Ph.D's in 2011, in which case it may nominate two candidates. The Award Committee will make the final determination whether a thesis qualifies under the term "soil science" as in cases in which the thesis may be in soil bacteriology, soil chemistry, soil geography, etc. The committee may request a copy of the complete thesis.
